Mom knows best

And I thought I was bad! Moms are spending more than six hours a day on their smartphones, according to a study just released by BabyCenter. The report shows that during those 6.1 hours a day, moms are using their smartphones as a household management tool, checking weather, social networks, accessing games for their children and more.

The study also shows extreme growth in mom smartphone adoption. “Overall adoption of smartphones among moms has risen 64% over the past two years, and 51% of moms say they are ‘addicted’ to their smartphone,” babycenter said.

What does this mean for advertisers? The study shows that moms are very responsive to mobile advertising, 46 percent taking action after seeing an ad on their smartphone.

“The fact that mobile is mainstream for moms, and is always on, creates infinite possibilities for today’s marketers. The mobile media inflection point is now. Marketers need to understand this to build deeper and more meaningful connections with Mom,” said Michael Fogarty, Global Publisher of BabyCenter.
